The gentle, almost lullaby-like 3/4 feel of this hymn setting features an original hymn tune by the composer, who also wrote the text. Appropriate for assembly singing, it is scored for SATB choir with descant, keyboard, guitar, and solo instruments in C, and cello. Over five verses, the hopeful text deals with topics of charity, Christian life, God's love for us, joy, and peace. While the end the verses has a short, motivically based turnaround, a longer, optional interlude is also provided to allow the assembly to reflect on the text between verses or, if needed, extend the liturgical moment.
