Ashes to Ashes

On Ash Wednesday we are marked with a cross to show that we belong to God, to the People of God. To help the faithful on this journey which follows the way of his Son, through Passion and Death into the glory of the Resurrection, many of the verses in this song are based on the lectionary texts for the season of Lent. The scripture references have been included at the end of each verse. Written for SAB choir, this piece also includes arrangements for oboe and cello.
