We proudly present one of the most well-known traditional hymns in the Hispanic/Latino community used during Holy Hours and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. With a new contemporary arrangement for three voices with a descant, we also include a new translation in English ("O Blessed Be Our God") for use in bilingual communities. This song is a form of hymn known as an alabado (hymn of praise) brought from México to the New México region around the 16th century. It helped to sustain the practice of the faith among communities during which there was little to no access to priests or the Sacraments. Its simple text expressing a Eucharistic theology and piety that is very intimate and personal, interpreted through a simple melody will complement your Holy Hours and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
