Ecce Panis Angelorum

The text of Ecce Panis Angelorum is drawn from St. Thomas Aquinas's Corpus Christi sequence, Lauda Sion Salvatorem. Set in the original Latin, this piece begins in unison with a newly composed plainchant, and later adds lush harmonies derived in part from the mixolydian mode. Because of its focus on the Real Presence, it is suitable for general use as a Eucharistic hymn, or during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or at the Feast of Corpus Christi itself. Organ can lightly double the a cappella SATB choral parts if needed; of easy-medium it is accessible for choirs of any size and ability.
