Taking two of the verses from the Stabat Mater, Robert Benson has written a beautiful setting for SATB choir and organ. Composed in a chant-like style evoking the ancient nature of this Latin text, "Eia Mater" (Let me, Mother, font of love) can be sung throughout the season of Lent; it is especially fitting on Good Friday.
