Not many contemporary hymns exist for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it being a relatively recent devotion adopted by the Church (dating back only three hundred years). “Heart of Heaven” is set for SAB choir and descant accompanied by keyboard and guitar, with a simple refrain-and-verse structure that makes it easy for an assembly to learn and follow. Additional instrumentation in the octavo offers flexibility in arrangement with parts for horn in F, violin, viola, and cello.
