This octavo—which presents Will’s imaginative setting of her own original hymn text—exhorts God to purify our hearts and draw us to holiness, making this piece an excellent fit for Easter or Pentecost. The first verse begins in unison and gradually expands to full SATB parts with descant by the final verse. The flexible keyboard accompaniment may be played on piano or organ, and a solo instrument part for flute (or another C instrument) is featured during the instrumental interlude. Additionally, a simplified hymn version is included, which may be used with the assembly edition.
