Scott Soper has composed a beautiful new countermelody (on an original text) to the beloved and famous Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria." This arrangement lends itself to a variety of choral, solo, and instrumental settings. Musicians are encouraged to create other arrangements as needed. It is a fitting choice to be sung for the Annunciation of the Lord (March 25) as well as for the antiphon in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary during Night Prayer.
