Based on the familiar prophetic text of Isaiah 11, the lyrics of this anthem carry the listener through the season of Advent in preparation for Christmas. Written for SATB choir and organ accompaniment, the lilting, cut-time melody is passed between the high and low voices at each section until the final refrain, which is sung in full SATB harmony.
