Salve Regina (A Litany to Mary)

Composed as a litany for Marian feasts, this piece for schoolchildren begins with a portion of the venerable Latin plainchant. This slow and rhythmically free introduction, surprisingly, breaks into an upbeat, syncopated repetition of the text "Holy Mary, pray for us," over which interjections for cantor(s) in both English and Spanish can be sung. It is accompanied by keyboard and guitar.
