NOËL NOUVELET, the beloved French tune in Dorian mode, has a sweetness that underscores both the joy found in the newborn baby Jesus, as well as the promise of new life in the death and Resurrection of Christ. In this new arrangement, the melody is skillfully shared between the upper and lower voices of the choir, well supported by an active and rousing organ accompaniment. For use during the Christmas Season through Epiphany, the four verses present the English translation of the traditional Provençal carol text. Also included are the well-known verses for Easter season, with their lovely words of comfort to the grieving and message of hope in rebirth inspired by the Gospel of John.
