This piece is a chant-like anthem for SATB choir and organ with optional oboe. LeBlanc uses mixed meters to achieve the chant style, and his shrewd use of voicing - SATB on verses 1 and 3, women only on verse 2, and unison choir on the final verse - helps to underscore and clarify the intensity of the text.
