Take, Lord, and Receive

Taken from the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, this anthem is wonderful for the Rite of Religious Profession and for moments of devotion. In this contemplative setting, the voice and accompaniment are integrated. The prayer of offering is not sung again, but it is played by the keyboardist. The words of the petition are repeated, with the additional text "Give me the grace to love you," in the alto part as a countermelody.
