We Sing the Lamb Who Once Was Slain

This compact yet festive setting for SATB choir and keyboard (especially effective with organ!) rolls briskly along in a lilting 6/8. The tuneful and diatonic vocal melody is presented in unison at first, supported by planing chords in the keyboard, which keeps the texture rich and engaging (it sounds more challenging to execute than it actually is). Full choral treatment is reserved for the end of the anthem, giving the piece a satisfying and effective musical architecture.
