With a metered refrain for SAB choir and assembly (inspired by the well-known text Ubi caritas et amor) and chanted verses for cantor alone (based on various scriptural selections) this song is ideal for Holy Thursday and rites of Marriage or Christian Initiation. Accompanied by keyboard, guitar, solo instrument in C, and cello, the modality of this beautiful piece is reminiscent of the choral writing of Vaughan Williams and Howells.
