Written during the COVID-19 pandemic of the early 2020s, the refrain of this title was a mantra for the composer. Its soothing, soulful melody continues to communicate a sense of peace and comfort. The foursquare, straight-ahead gospel feel will have broad appeal. It can be sung simply and effectively with just cantor and assembly, though the SATB choral parts, descant, and solo instrument in C can all be used in various combinations. It is liturgically flexible since the five verses cover many themes, including conversion, hope in darkness, justice, longing for God, salvation, trust, and social concern.
